The Cortez Cultural Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to our community’s educational, cultural, artistic, and scientific interests. Shop in our gift shop, where we feature goods representing Southwestern cultures, made by local artisans. Visit our museum, which represents the rich cultural past and present of the Cortez area. Enjoy the work of local artists in our art gallery, whose exhibits change monthly. Join a circle dance with Native American performers in our outdoor dance plaza, eat freshly made fry bread, or watch a Native American artisan create handmade items. We are open year-round, and have lectures, music, plays, art exhibits, and much more. The Cortez Cultural Center also owns Hawkins Preserve, a 122-acre natural and cultural preserve open to the public year-round, a great chance for hiking and biking with your family in the wilderness without leaving town.
