Go Colorado – Pure Local Adventure
Originating in 1996 and forming a solid foundation for the true meaning of tourism in Colorado, we are proud to say that in 2011, we are now ready to take GoColorado.com to new heights! Being natives of Colorado, we consider it an honor to bring quality content, video, and online media services for travel destinations and local businesses in the state.
With content and information exclusively about the state provided by well-known travel journalists and Colorado lovers, the site has brought together many of the people and places that make Colorado an amazing place to live. Since its creation, Go Colorado grew larger: offering not only articles about great Colorado destinations, but also videos and maps to guide you through even more ways to explore Colorado.
In 2011, we became even more ambitious and expanded the site into something even larger. With a brand new design and a little restructuring, Go Colorado developed into what you see today.
The sliding picture viewer is one of the most noticeable changes, as it is front and center on every page. It features a few top articles and local businesses for you to check out, not to mention some spectacular Colorado pictures!
Did you notice the climber scaling the “T” on the right side menu? This is the new 365 Things To Do In Colorado category. Every day, a new post goes up sharing a new Colorado attraction or activity!
Go Colorado is now an online community, too, powered by your discussion of all things Colorado! You can discuss our posts, or you can branch out and chat about activities you love, events you attended, or places you have visited, among many other topics.
One of our favorite new additions is a unique interactive map that you can use to explore Colorado by city, region, or county. Each area on the map lists activities and local businesses you can find in that location, making it easy to decide where you want to look for your next Colorado adventure.
Distinctive city pages are yet another new feature on Go Colorado, with new cities being added all the time. Each page shows off beautiful pictures, fun activities, exciting restaurants, and the best places to stay in the area.
But, Go Colorado has even more to come! Soon, businesses will be able to list their information in our directory, starting with just their name and contact information, but if they want a little more pizzazz, they can upgrade to an entire page with photos, more information, and even video.
Go Colorado will also have an events calendar for both readers and event coordinators to enjoy. The calendar will feature events by location and type, and readers will be able to search the listings while event planners can submit their events to be included in the calendar as well.
With all these changes, longtime visitors may be wondering whether Go Colorado is the same site you have come to know, trust, and love for information about the wonderful state of Colorado. The answer is yes. The site may look a little different, and it may have a few new fun features to play with, but Go Colorado is still the best place to come for information about everything Colorado, from lodging to restaurants, and activities to history. We will still have new articles coming in about new places to discover, memorable events to attend, great restaurants to try, and cool things to do in Colorado—the only difference will be the background picture.
Whether you have been a loyal Go Colorado reader for years, or you are new visitor exploring our site devoted to the beautiful state of Colorado, all of us at GoColorado.com hope you like what you see, and keep coming back for more Pure Local Adventure!
